Taylor House Bed and Breakfast

Taylor House, a gracious sixteen room Victorian home in Boston’s Jamaica Plain section, was built around 1853 for George W. Taylor, an international merchant head-quartered in Boston. It is situated within the Monument Square Historic District, and lies in an area known as "Pondside", which contains some of Jamaica Plain’s finest suburban architecture. The structure is predominantly Italianate in style, but retains some Greek Revival elements that reflect the earliest architectural style found in Jamaica Plain. A distinctive octagonal cupola sits atop the main house, and this shape is echoed in a number of ways within the interior of the structure.

A multi-stage restoration project was launched in 1996. The exterior was painted in the Summer of 2002. The addition of a porch to the right side of the house (removed by previous owners) was completed in 2003. And to top off the restoration, a new kitchen was added in the spring on 2006. The house is surrounded by Victorian-inspired gardens and lies less than one block from a beautiful pond and a town centre that offers excellent dining and shopping.

The entire first floor can accommodate 75 for a stand-up reception. The room set up with reception tables,
round tops for up to 30 for sit-down dinner.
